Antique John Chatillon and Sons Makers 50 lb Hanging Spring Scale

This is an antique hanging spring scale (1800s to early 1900s). The scale seems to work fine (though I do not know if it still weighs accurately), with wear and light rust to the black japanned finish. There is a hook at the bottom and ring at the top, both made of the same materials. This is a perfect home decor piece for anyone looking for a vintage item with a bit of a rustic feel. Or for those that are a bit crafty perhaps it will become part or a lamp or another interesting home decor piece.

Stamped in the metal is ‘Approved Type, 34 Serial H, N. Y. City, Made in USA’ above the word ‘Chatillon.’

Approximately 17” long with hook and ring, 11.75" just the scale.
Weighs: 1 lb 13 oz
