EAPG 1899 Cruet-Catsup Bottle and Stopper - Planet by Model Flint Glass Co.

Beautiful, elegant and functional. This large cruet (also called a catsup) is sturdy enough to grace your table today and beautiful enough to compliment your home decor, whether shabby chic, farmhouse, country, romantic, bohemian, rustic, primitive, or ????

Approximately 9” tall with stopper, 4” long and 4” wide.
Some chips in the end of the stopper and the inner rim of the cruet. Lines on handle were introduced during its manufacture (i.e., it was not broken and glued.) No other chips or cracks were noted.

The pattern on the bottom is not a flaw. These cruets were made by pressing the glass upside down in the mold, taking them out and closing the bottom by hand with a special tool (the cut-shut method). The closure mark usually looks like a squiggle. The glass makers who closed this cruet was quiet skilled and the closure looks like a swirling star.

Most items in my shop are vintage and are not brand new and come from estate sales. The items may show minor age-related wear and/or minor flaws consistent with the date of manufacture (please be sure to check photos carefully as they are part of the description).
