1911 Spiritual Hymnal in Gator/Croc Leather Portfolio

This is a very unusual find consisting of a cloth-bound Spiritualist Hymnal for the First Independent Golden Rule Spiritual Church encased in an alligator or croc leather portfolio. I think the portfolio was originally a purse and then modified: In addition to the original machine stitching, there is carefully hand stitched bias tape on the turned in pieces and a piece of green striped silk has been added in a couple of places. I do not have a way to confirm whether or not the portfolio is as old as the book.

The leather is worn in places, but overall is in very good shape and still soft. The lining is worn and stained in places
The book is in good shape with minor wear/tear and discoloration for its age
Portfolio is approximately 9.75” by 7” when closed.
Book is approximately 8.25” by 6” when closed.

The items may show minor age-related wear and/or minor flaws consistent with the date of manufacture (please be sure to check photos carefully as they are part of the description).
