Late 1800s Arden Farms Dairy Co One Quart Milk Bottle, New York | As found

Arden farms was started in the 1880s (see below) and continued for more than 80 years. Around the neck is embossed a jester’s collar below the phrase “A bottle of milk is a bottle of health.” Based on how this particular bottle was made (e.g., the number of air bubbles in this bottle, inconsistencies in the height of the base, and color of the glass), it looks to have been one of the earlier bottles made in the 1800s. This milk bottle has lots of character and is perfect for the collector or someone that loves history. Or use it as an interesting home decor piece in your home, whether your style is shabby chic, farmhouse, country, man cave, bohemian, rustic, primitive or ????

Scuffs and scrapes on the bottle and one tiny nick on the inner lip. There are 2 cracks near the base (likely the bottle was dropped at one point) - see pictures.
Approximately 9 ⅜” tall and 3 ⅝” wide.

In 1886, as iron production in the area was winding down, the Parrott holdings of several thousand acres were purchased by E. H. Harriman, whose wealth had been gained during the railroad boom in the mid 1800's. Harriman turned much of the acreage into a large commercial dairy farm, Arden Farms, which employed many people from surrounding communities.
