Large Antique Ludwig Wessel Imperial Bonn China Floral Cheese Dome and Plate Set | 1755 Mark
This Victorian era cheese dome (cloche) features a different floral arrangement on each side and what looks like gold glitter in the glaze at the edges with highlights of gold gilt. It has an ornate, yet sturdy and functional, handle on the top. It has a timeless beauty that will compliment your home decor, whether Victorian, shabby chic, farmhouse, country, romantic, cottagecore, bohemian, rustic, or ????

There is heaving crazing on the piece which has caused discoloration in places. I would not use this to serve food, but instead use it as decor or creative storage.
Small chip on underside corner of plate (see pictures). Some small chips on the bottom.
Small imperfection (not sure if it is missing glaze during the manufacture or a chip) on bottom of dome (see pictures).
‘1755 ‘Makers Mark stamp on the inside of the dome, which was used from 1875-1910.
5390 and 14 are also hand painted inside the dome
Impressed makers mark (Wessel) on the underside of plate.
Plate: approximately 8.75 x 7.25 x 1.25”
Dome: Approximately 6.5 x 4 ⅞” x 6.5”
