Antique 1920s Victorian Metal Hi Top Derby Shoe-shaped Inkwell

A beautiful and highly detailed inkwell in the shape of a high top Derby (Budapester) shoe. It is possibly cast bronze. It is ready to grace your home, whether your style is shabby chic, farmhouse, country, Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, rustic, cottagecore, nana chic, cabin or ????

Approximately 6.5” long, 2.5” wide and 3” tall.

Wear/tear, tarnishing commensurate with age and use. A couple of tiny rust spots on the inside.

Inkwells were essential desk accessories for writers and professionals before the widespread adoption of fountain pens and ball point pens. The design of inkwells often reflected the prevailing artistic styles of their time, serving as both function items and decorative pieces.
