1960s Georges Briard Fire King 2-Qt Casserole and Lid in the Celeste Pattern | Signed

The bold green and gold pattern featuring a geometric pattern featuring sun, moon, columns and laurels is the epitome of MCM decor. The Celeste pattern in gold and green exemplifies the blend of practicality and high-end design that made Briard’s work so desirable.

Georges Briard was a renowned American designer known for his distinctive glassware and ceramics, particularly popular during the mid-20th century. He collaborated with various manufacturers, including Fire-King (a division of Anchor Hocking) to create stylish and functional tableware. His designs often featured bold patterns, metallic accents like gold and platinum and a sophisticated aesthetic that captured the spirit of the era.

Dish is approximately 8.5” wide (10” with handles) and 5.5” tall with lid.
No noted chips or cracks.
There seems to be some residue or a scuff on the inside of the bowl (see pictures).
