Edoardo Tasco 18" Lady with Dog Living Sculpture | Signed Limited Edition | Capodimonte Region Italy

A stunningly beautiful limited edition Art Deco/Hollywood Regency style porcelain lady walking her dog from the Capodimonte region. This statue has been hand-painted with meticulous attention to detail which makes this signed and numbered piece a work of art in its own right or can be added to the base to become a beautiful table lamp. I believe this piece is from the 1970s-1980s and noted defects are listed below.

Statue: The elegant woman is decorated with intricate detail from colorful painted features to molded hair and painted fingernails to the checkering on her tassel. She is wearing a 2-toned blue dress with gold trim, maroon shoes, and a pink hat with a pink and white checkered tassel. On a gilded chain leash she is walking a long haired greyhound. The base is painted to look like black marble. The statue is approximately 18” tall by 10.5” wide and 6.5” deep. Missing pinky finger (see pictures).

Lamp base: The lamp unit is decorated with a brass finish base and a shell form shade embellished with a silver embroidery. Overall it measures approximately 20” tall and 21” wide. Light bulb not included.
According to Invaluable, one of these statues sold for $1800 in 2021.

Noted defects:
Statue is missing pink finger (see pictures)
The is a glaze imperfection on the dog’s back
Faux felt on base of statue has some minor rips
Edoardo Tasco plaque on lamp base is missing and there are some scuffs on the top that would be covered by the statue.

Artist’s signature impressed into the base
Stamped maker’s mark translates to “Living sculpture Edition. Limited to 1000 works,” and Edoardo Tasca, Italy, mark of crown over an N.
Statue is Number 732 of 1000.

Artist: Edoardo Tasca was a celebrated Italian sculptor and ceramicist known for his exceptional Capodimonte-style porcelain figures. Working primarily in the mid-20th century, Tasca created elaborate decorative sculptures that combined classical techniques with Hollywood glamour aesthetics. His works are highly collectible and represent the finest Italian ceramic artistry of the era.
