1980 Queen Nefertiti and Limited Signature Edition King Tutankhamun Peggy Nisbet 8” Dolls

Peggy Nisbet dolls which were known for their historical accuracy and attention to detail. These 8” dolls, King Tutankhamum (No 293/1000) and Queen Nefertiti, are not exceptions. Perfect for the lover of history or collector of Peggy Nisbet dolls.

Both dolls were made with a cast metal head, which allowed very fine detail to be captured and the casting was then plated, and finely painted before the metal heads were attached to plastic bodies. Their clothing is made of finely pleated materials, beads, and gold accents.

King Tutankhamun is in excellent condition. The only noted issues are that his metal head has come unglued from the plastic body (and that can be easily corrected and his left arm seems loose in the socket. The original paper tag is still attached and in part reads: “King Tutankhamun, Model P1002, I hereby certify that this Peggy Nisbet Doll is No. 293 of Signed Introductory limited edition of 1000 models. I guarantee that no further signed models of this design will be made available. Signed Peggy Nisbet for House of Nisbet Limited.”

Queen Nefertiti was never issued as a “Limited Signature Edition”, but was intended as a companion doll to Tutankhamun. The original paper tag is still attached and reads “Costume Dolls by Peggy Nisbet, A Peggy Nisbet Model P1003, Queen Nefertiti, made in England”
Some of the feathers on her fan are bent, but otherwise in perfect condition.
