Vintage Enamel on Copper Miniature Painting | Signed R. Sarlandie, Limoges

$100.00

A stunning miniature painting of a creek peacefully flowing in fall colored woods. The piece, created on a curved piece of copper, still has the most vivid colors coupled with the minutest detail painted by this master of the form. The results are, well, stunning.

5” wide and 3.5” tall
Cracks in glaze on back of picture but none noted on the front
Signed lower right R. Sarlandie (Robert Sarlandie, French, 1901-1986)

Sarlandie was one of France’s premiere enamelists who worked exclusively in Limoges France. This piece
Robert Sarlandie (1901–1986) was a prominent master enamellist from Limoges, France, recognized for highly detailed, hand-painted copper enamels. His vibrant pictorial works—featuring snowy village scenes, landscapes, and religious motifs—helped preserve the historic techniques of French enameling well into the 20th century. He was active primarily from the 1940s through the 1960s.

As a child, I loved going with my mama and grandparents to yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores as we shared the love of sifting for treasures. That tradition has been continued into my adulthood and I am honored to share my unique finds with you.

Most items in my shop are vintage and are not brand new and come from estate sales. The items may show minor age-related wear and/or minor flaws consistent with the date of manufacture (please be sure to check photos carefully as they are part of the description). I do my best to describe any imperfections. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
