Vintage Handpainted Spanish Flamenco Cloth and Lacquered Wood Folding Fan

This fan, with its vibrant floral motif of handpainted carnations and decorative lacquered guard, evokes the style often associated with Spanish fans used for dancing or as decorative items. The intricate design extends from the wooden ribs and guard to the fabric of the leaf. The materials, wood for the ribs and fabric for the leaf, along with the gilded ornamentation are typical of fans produced in the late 19th to mid 20th centuries.
Perfect for the collector, as a home decor accent piece, interesting wall art, or as a way to cool down when the AC quits working.

This is a beautiful fan that, based on its features, I think is 1950s-60s, if not much older.
One of the ribs is detached from the cloth leaf, but could be re-glued.
Metal connector at base of wooden ribs.
Fraying at top edge, wear/tear at creases, and darkening of metal ring are commensurate with age.
Approximately 15.75” wide and 9” tall.
