1950s Petrified Wood Route 66 Souvenir from Howdy Hank’s Trading Post

A fun piece of ephemera from the past. Howdy Hank’s Indian Trading Post was located along Route 66 in Joseph City, Arizona. The card has a chip of petrified wood attached with an explanation of how it was made. On the back is a list of the distance from Howdy Hank’s to other cities along Route 66.

Card is approximately 4.25” x 3.75”
Card shows wear and tear commensurate with age.

There was also the Hopi Village Indian Store & Cafe, which by the mid-1950s had evolved into Howdy Hank’s Trading Post.

As a child, I loved going with my mama and grandparents to yard sales, estate sales, and thrift stores as we shared the love of sifting for treasures. That tradition has been continued into my adulthood and I am honored to share my unique finds with you.
