WWII-era United States War Ration Book No. 3 | World War II Ephemera Memorabilia

A bit of tangible history from World War II, this WWII-era United States War Ration Book No. 3, OPA Form R-130 assigned to R. Paulich from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Book shows wear and tear commensurate with its age and still contains many of its stamps. Perfect for the collector or military or history buff.

During World War II, the US government implemented a system of rationing to ensure that essential goods were distributed fairly and that enough supplies were available for the military. The Office of Price Administration (OPA) managed this effort, issuing ration books to every citizen to control the consumption of items like sugar, meat, butter, and gasoline. These books contained stamps that citizens had to surrender to retailers along with the payment to purchase rationed goods.

War Ration Book No. 3 was part of a series of booklets issued to the public throughout the war. These documents served as both a permit for purchase and a form of identification for the holder. They are collected as examples of the home-front experience and the economic mobilization of the American people during the
