During the early decades of the 20th century, financial institutions distributed portable home saving banks to customers, allowing families to deposit coins regularly before bringing the secure device back to the branch for processing. These promotional tools served as effective marketing instruments while simultaneously fostering a culture of disciplined personal finance. This traveling back was distributed by The Guaranty State Bank of Topeka, Kansas. Perfect for the collector, an interesting 100+ year old home decor accent piece or as a unique gift.
