I could find many examples of the 1930s version on this tin online, but I could not find another from the 1950s with this design and color scheme. The cream, copper and brown tin features the phrase "It Lifts The Dust" alongside a classic, stylized illustration of a Native American figure in a headdress. This tin still contains the original polishing cloth and is a sought-after piece of mid-20th-century automotive and roadside advertising memorabilia. It is perfect for the collector or as a man cave or home decor accent piece.
Scuffs/scratches, patina, light rust, wear/tear commensurate with age. Dent in front of tin.
Approximately 5.5x3.5x1.5”
Written on tin: “Chemically and scientifically prepared in the laboratories of The Auto Supplies Mfg., Co., Inc. Denver, Colorado” “‘It lifts the dust’ for automobiles, fine furniture and all polished surfaces” “Catalogue 101” “None genuine without this signature, L. P. Galbraith”
Please see my other listings for more old advertising tins.
