“About Durkee's: The E.R. Durkee & Company was a spice company founded by Eugene R. Durkee in 1857. By the 1920s, it had grown to become a leading manufacturer of salad dressings, meat sauces, pickles, condiments and spices. Mr. Durkee died in 1926 and left the company to his three daughters, who sold it for $1.8 million in 1929 to the Glidden Company, a paint and chemical manufacturer. In 2005, the Glidden-Durkee division became part of the growing food product conglomerate, Associated British Foods. In 2016, it was announced that the spice division, that included Durkee, Spice Islands, and Tone's brands, would be sold to B&G Foods.” - https://thetownhouseantiques.com/products/metal-lithographed-vintage-durkees-apple-pie-spice-tin
