EAPG Buckeye Glass No. 545 Rose Blush Acorn Salt and Pepper Shakers | Victorian Peachblow

Peachblow or Peach Blow? Either way, these Buckeye Glass Co. Acorn Salt & Pepper Shakers are stunning pieces. The glass goes from pink to white (more information on the process is below). Perfect for the collector or to accent your home or kitchen whether your style tends towards MCM, shabby chic, farmhouse, country, romantic, Victorian, bohemian, rustic, cottage core, nana chic or ????

Lids are old, but may not be the original lids
ACORN (AKA) buc by Buckeye Glass Company/Martins Ferry-Ohio (Company Operated: 1876-1896), c1889 Introduced

Date of Production 1889-1896
Approximately 2.75” tall (without lids) and 2 1/8” wide
No chips or cracks noted. Each piece has a fine line that curves up and around, but as the pieces feel smooth inside and out, I think this variance was introduced during the manufacturing and are not cracks (I also did not detect any glue with a UV light).

What is Peachblow? It is a heat-sensitive homogenous glass that gets its color change from being reheated in the glory hole, a process called “striking.” The heat causes a chemical reaction which causes a color change in the portions that were heated a second time.

Most items in my shop are vintage and are not brand new and come from estate sales. The items may show minor age-related wear and/or minor flaws consistent with the date of manufacture (please be sure to check photos carefully as they are part of the description). I do my best to describe any imperfections. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

ETSY usually charges for individual packages when calculating shipping. If you purchase more than 1 item, I will refund any overpaid postage when shipped. Thank you for looking.
