A bit of tangible history from World War II, this WWII-era 2 oz. military lubricating oil tin by R.M. Hollingshead Corp. Chemical companies and petroleum refiners across the US manufactured small metal oil cans for the armed forces during the middle of the twentieth century. These containers were produced in massive quantities to supply troops with the necessary lubricants for maintaining firearms, vehicles and field equipment. Perfect for a history buff or collector of World War II memorabilia or as part of a reenactment uniform.
Circa 1940-1945
Light rust, patina, wear/tear commensurate with age.
Much of the graphics and writing are worn off. On the back it says, “Container may be carried in cartridge belts or pocket.”
Approximately 2” wide and 2.5” tall with spout.
