1950s JC Higgins Catalytic Pocket Hand Warmer | Untested

$16.00

JC Higgins was a house brand used by Sears, Roebuck and Co. for its sporting goods, hardware and outdoor equipment lines from the 1908 until the early 1960s. These pocket handwarmers were manufactured in Japan during the post-second world war manufacturing boom of the 1950s and sold through the massive Sears mail-order catalog and retail stores across the US. They were produced using stamped metal shells designed to safely house a slow-burning catalytic element without producing an open flame.

Approximately 3 ⅞” tall and 2 ⅝” wide.
Empty, dent on lower side (not sure if that was part of the design or added through use), scuffs/scratches commensurate with age.

Please see my other listings for more interesting pieces that could be used for vintage home decor or placed in a shadow box.

Most items in my shop are vintage and are not brand new and come from estate sales. The items may show minor age-related wear and/or minor flaws consistent with the date of manufacture (please be sure to check photos carefully as they are part of the description). I do my best to describe any imperfections. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

ETSY usually charges for individual packages when calculating shipping. If you purchase more than 1 item, I will refund any overpaid postage when shipped. Thank you for looking.
